Renal Involvement in COVID-19 Among Iranian Children

Background: Information about renal involvement in pediatric patients with COVID-19 is limited, and there not enough data urinary tract children infected this novel virus. Objectives: This study aimed to determine the spectrum of kidney diseases COVID-19, admitted a tertiary children’s hospital. Methods: cross-sectional was conducted on 71 infection. Diagnosis established based guidelines by Iranian Ministry Health. The patients’ demographic characteristics, clinical symptoms, laboratory results, ultrasonography findings were extracted from hospital medical records. Results: On admission, 10% had oliguria, 7.7% edema, 3% hypertension. first urinalysis indicated proteinuria, leukocyturia, hematuria 46%, 24%, 23% patients, respectively. Overall, 40.7% showed some degree involvement. During hospitalization, acute injury (AKI) occurred 34.5% patients.
